Sunday Suppers Success!

Why aren't you here?

Entering our 3rd year, Aspirehouse Indy and DipIN, along with the NW Landings neighborhood association and multiple sponsors, are again holding the monthly Sunday Suppers right here on the corner of Udell and Radar St. in the Near Northwest. The aim is to reconnect our community through the tradition of family-style and culturally inspired Sunday dinners. This initiative has grown in both success and attendance by promoting healthier ways to cook the foods we eat, introducing the residents to resources they may need, and reacquainting ourselves with our neighbors.

Inspired by watching a show on Netflix about African American culinary history and having watched how isolated we had become due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sharon Clark with Aspirehouse Indy came to DipIN to talk about creating a partnership where she could host the dinners for the community, and DipIN could be the sponsor. What came out of it was a huge success and has become the "go-to" monthly event of the neighborhood. Every 3rd Sunday, we bring healthier food, culturally relative, and even multicultural selections for the residents to try…for free!! It's like a monthly block party, but you don't have to cook! We do it for you.

This year, starting in May, we have held the dinners every month and will be ending the year on October 14th with a huge finale. We will be shutting the streets down and bringing all of our DipIN fitness partners and the Marion County Health Dept. to engage you in fun, new, and healthy activities for all ages as we dine on even more good food, so please, this invite is for you!

See the" Neighborhood Reunion at Frank Young Park" flier in this newsletter and RSVP your seat today to come and dine, play, and commune with us!
