Submitted by Sheryl D. Richardson, Sr. Manager of Community Relations

Hello, Friends of Indy Parks,

I hope you have been enjoying your summer with Indy Parks! In parks news, we've still got lots of summer fun for the whole family taking place in parks all over Indy! Check out pools and splash pads through Labor Day.

This week, as children across Marion County return to the classroom, Indy Parks announced the return of its after-school meals program, which provides free meals to children 18 and under across Indianapolis.

Meal sites will be set up at eight Indy Parks locations. In addition, three mobile serving sites will visit several Indianapolis Public Library branches throughout the week. Riverside Park will also be hosting Healthy Food events on Saturday mornings, 8/7, 8/28, and 9/18.

Although the Grand Opening of the Taggart Memorial Amphitheatre at Riverside Regional Park was postponed due to extreme heat concerns.

A new date for the celebration will be announced in the coming weeks.

The event program will include a unique combination of remarks and performances to celebrate the memorial's revitalization and acknowledge individual and institution contributions. Thus, officially marking the commencement of the Taggart Memorial Amphitheatre's introductory season of performances and events.

The Introductory Season Series will occur every Thursday evening throughout August and September. To learn more about the Taggart Memorial Amphitheatre Grand Opening Celebration or view the Introductory Season Series schedule, visit parks-alliance.org/projects/riverside-park.
