Spring on the farm has been a blur! With the help of our FEED youth team, we are finishing up the last preparations for planting. Brassicas - kale, cabbage, and collard greens are already in the ground. We should begin harvesting on the farm by mid-June, and the Green House continues to crank out greens.
So keep your eyes on Cleo’s Bodega for fresh farm produce! We also have successfully hosted several events this spring. Our Defend the Forest Native Tree Distro distributed nearly 1,500 native trees to our community and raised awareness about police brutality and police abolition.
Our May Day Radical Picnic brought together revolutionary organizations and mutual aid groups, a day of fun, music, and solidarity building. We also collected supplies to send to the Palestine Solidarity encampment at the IUI campus.
And coming up, we are working with our good friends at Ujamaa Community Bookstore and the National Lawyers Guild to continue our series of “Know Your Rights” workshops this summer! Stay tuned for more updates! Come by and visit the farm, M-F, 10:00-2:00.
