Flanner House of Indianapolis is proud to offer the Joyce Johnson Memorial Scholarship, an opportunity dedicated to providing a resource for post-secondary students who are pursuing a career in Education, Human, and Public Services.
Qualified applicants must:
Have at least a GPA of 2.5 (high school or current college)
Be accepted, or currently enrolled, in an accredited college or university pursuing a program related to education, human, or public services.
Materials for this application include:
Two letters of recommendation
An essay (no more than two typed, double-spaced pages, Times New Roman, 12pt font) that articulates career goals related to the student’s studies.
Preference is given to applicants from historically underrepresented communities and those who have navigated systemic barriers and live in Marion County or the Greater Indianapolis area. Scholarship recipients must agree to be available for 40 hours of volunteer work at Flanner House of Indianapolis within 12 months of receipt of the scholarship.
